Asian market rally leaves Japan standing
ABSTRACT
Asian stock markets enjoyed their best year since 2003 as the region, particularly China, led the global economic recovery.
The FTSE All-World Asia-Pacific index climbed 37 per cent in 2009, compared with a 31 per cent gain for its global equity counterpart. But stripping Japan out of the equation left the region with a rise of 67 per cent, according to the FTSE All-World Asia-Pacific ex-Japan index.
